1. Privacy at a Glance

VibeView is designed to arrange application windows locally on your Mac.

The app does not require a user account and does not operate its own backend server. Window information processed by VibeView is not uploaded to us, sold, used for advertising, or used to create a profile of your activity.

VibeView does not include third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs.

2. Local Window Processing

To provide its core functionality, VibeView uses interfaces provided by macOS to identify eligible running applications and visible windows.

Depending on the current app version and the windows available on your Mac, the app may process locally:

  • application names and bundle identifiers;
  • process identifiers;
  • window roles and subroles;
  • whether a window is minimized or in full-screen mode;
  • window position and size;
  • the display on which a window is located; and
  • whether an application has been excluded from arrangement.

This information is used only to determine which windows can be arranged, calculate their positions, move and resize them, and restore the previous layout.

VibeView does not transmit this window information to the developer or an external server.

3. Accessibility Permission

VibeView requires macOS Accessibility permission to discover, move, and resize windows belonging to other applications.

This permission is controlled by macOS and can be reviewed or withdrawn at any time under System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

VibeView uses this permission only to provide its window-management functionality. It is not designed to read the textual content of documents, messages, source code, websites, or other window content.

If you deny or withdraw Accessibility permission, VibeView will be unable to provide some or all of its core functionality.

4. Previous-Layout Snapshot

Immediately before arranging eligible windows, VibeView may temporarily retain references to those windows and their previous positions and sizes.

This snapshot is held in the app's working memory so that you can restore the previous layout. It is cleared after restoration and is not intentionally stored as a permanent history or uploaded to us.

The snapshot may also cease to exist when the app is terminated.

5. Excluded Applications

VibeView allows you to exclude selected applications from automatic arrangement.

For this purpose, the bundle identifiers of excluded applications are stored locally in macOS user preferences. A bundle identifier is a technical application identifier, such as a reverse-domain-style string.

The exclusion list remains on your Mac until you change it, reset the app's local preferences, remove the app's local data, or uninstall the app. It is not transmitted to us.

6. Application Settings

VibeView may store the following preferences locally on your Mac:

  • window gap;
  • screen padding;
  • arrangement keyboard shortcut;
  • restoration keyboard shortcut;
  • excluded application bundle identifiers; and
  • launch-at-login configuration.

These settings are used to preserve your configuration between sessions and are not transmitted to us by VibeView.

7. Launch at Login

If you enable Launch at Login, macOS registers VibeView as a login item.

This setting is managed locally through macOS. You can disable it within VibeView or in the login-item settings provided by macOS.

Enabling this feature does not create an online account and does not transmit your macOS login credentials to us.

8. Diagnostic and System Logs

VibeView may write limited technical events to Apple's unified logging system on your Mac to support debugging and reliability. Depending on the event, local logs may include information such as permission status, window counts, application or display names, and window dimensions.

VibeView does not independently upload these logs to us. macOS controls the storage and retention of system logs.

If you choose to share crash reports or diagnostics with Apple or app developers through macOS settings, Apple may make certain diagnostic information available under its own privacy terms.

Please review diagnostic information before sending it manually in a support request.

9. No User Accounts

VibeView does not require a user account.

We do not collect through the app:

  • names;
  • usernames or passwords;
  • contact lists;
  • document contents;
  • source code;
  • browsing history;
  • screen recordings; or
  • cloud-stored layouts.

10. Analytics, Tracking, and Advertising

VibeView does not contain:

  • advertising;
  • third-party advertising trackers;
  • behavioural or cross-app tracking;
  • user profiling;
  • custom analytics services; or
  • marketing SDKs.

We do not sell, rent, or trade personal data.

11. Apple and Distribution Platforms

If VibeView is distributed through Apple's Mac App Store, Apple may independently process information relating to your App Store account, purchase, payment, download, device, App Store usage, crash reports, and diagnostics.

Apple processes this information independently under Apple's own contractual terms and privacy policies. We generally do not receive your complete payment details from Apple.

Apple may provide developers with aggregated sales, download, performance, or diagnostic information. Such information is separate from the local window processing performed by VibeView.

If VibeView is obtained through another authorized distribution platform, that provider may process purchase or download information under its own terms and privacy policy.

12. Contact by Email

When you contact us by email, we process the information contained in your message, including your email address, to respond to your request.

Depending on the nature of the request, the legal basis is:

  • Article 6(1)(b) GDPR, where communication is necessary to perform a contract or take steps relating to a contract; or
  • Article 6(1)(f) GDPR, based on our legitimate interest in answering questions, providing support, and handling feedback.

Support correspondence is retained only for as long as necessary to handle the request and comply with applicable legal obligations.

Email communication may involve processing by the email and hosting providers used to deliver and store messages. Please do not include passwords, authentication codes, confidential window content, or other unnecessary sensitive information in support emails.

13. Legal and Administrative Obligations

We may process limited personal data where necessary to:

  • comply with legal obligations;
  • document purchases or support cases;
  • establish, exercise, or defend legal claims;
  • prevent fraud or misuse; or
  • respond to lawful requests from public authorities.

The applicable legal bases may include Article 6(1)(c) and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

14. Data Retention

Because VibeView does not transmit window information to us, we do not store or retain that information on our systems.

Locally stored app preferences remain on your Mac until you change them, reset the app, remove its local data, or uninstall it.

Personal data received through support communications is deleted when no longer necessary for the relevant purpose, unless statutory retention obligations require longer storage.

15. Data Sharing and International Transfers

We do not receive or share the window information processed locally by VibeView.

Personal data submitted through email may be processed by providers assisting with email, hosting, or technical infrastructure. These providers may process data only as necessary to provide their services and subject to applicable data-protection requirements.

Apple and providers used for email or hosting may process personal data outside the European Economic Area. Where required by applicable law, such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards. Further information is available in the privacy policies of the respective providers.

We may disclose information where required by law or necessary to establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.

16. Your Rights

Under the GDPR, you may have the right to:

  • request access to your personal data;
  • request correction of inaccurate personal data;
  • request deletion of your personal data;
  • request restriction of processing;
  • object to processing based on legitimate interests;
  • receive personal data you provided in a portable format where applicable; and
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

Because VibeView does not transmit or store window information on our systems, we cannot access, retrieve, correct, or delete that locally processed information for you.

To exercise your rights concerning personal data held by us, contact info@maxantonschneider.com.

You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a competent data-protection supervisory authority.

17. Security

VibeView is designed to minimize privacy risks through local processing and data minimization.

You remain responsible for protecting access to your Mac, controlling Accessibility permissions, managing which applications are excluded, reviewing diagnostic information before sharing it, and installing software updates.

No technical system can guarantee absolute security.

18. Children

VibeView is not specifically directed at children and does not provide an online service through which children knowingly submit personal data to us.

Parents and legal guardians are responsible for supervising its use by minors.

19. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy if VibeView's functionality or technical operation changes, new third-party services are introduced, or applicable legal requirements change.

The current version will be made available through the app's website, App Store listing, or another appropriate location.
